Risk Associate

Tower Research Capital, a high-frequency proprietary trading firm founded in 1998, seeks a Risk Manager, with a strong background in algorithmic trading to join the global Risk and Trading Supervision team at GIFT city, Gandhinagar

Responsibilities

• Providing risk oversight for the India trading activities of the firm by focusing on electronic, market and operational risk
• Assisting the regional Head of Risk in overseeing and managing risk for the regional trading activities
• Controlling both electronic trading risk and market risk of strategies in real-time, and consequently escalating, reporting, and resolving any risk related issues in a timely manner
• Working closely with the Portfolio Managers, Traders, Core Engineering team, and Prime Brokers to respond effectively to any risk limit violation and resolving any trading related issues
• Assisting Risk Management and Risk Technology teams to enhance the electronic trading risk controls and design the next generation of risk management and trading supervision systems
• Conducting ad-hoc risk analysis and back-testing on a regular basis

Qualifications

• An academic degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer science, or equivalent quantitative disciplines. Master’s degree will be given additional preference
• At least 1 to 3 years of experience in an electronic trading risk role gained with a quantitative proprietary trading group, systematic hedge fund manager, or sell-side electronic trading role
• Experience with algorithmic trading and low latency electronic risk controls is preferable
• Knowledge of global equities, futures and options
• Understanding of regional(India) exchange-specific rules and regulations
• Desire to continuously learn and proactively challenge the status quo to improve existing processes
• Solid track record of working with senior management, compliance, business management and technology teams
• Python and database proficiency, C++ and similar languages advantageous
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
