Niel Brooks

Niel Brooks possesses extensive experience in municipal management and public administration, currently serving as Assistant Town Manager for the Town of Leland since August 2006. Prior roles include Operations Director, Director of Parks, Recreation and Environmental Programs, and Planner/Long Range Planner. Previously, Niel worked as a Reporter and Assistant to the Editor at Carteret County News-Times from May 2002 to June 2005. Niel holds a Certificate in Municipal Administration and a Master of Public Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and University of North Carolina Wilmington, respectively. Additionally, Niel earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed a Certificate in Organizational Leadership from Harvard Business School Online in 2022.
