David Shinneman

Community Development Director at Town of Snowmass Village

David Shinneman has a diverse work experience in community development and planning. David began their career in 1985 as a Community Development Director for the City of Oldsmar, Florida, and later served as the Planning Administrator for the Pinellas County Planning Council. From 1997 to 2008, they worked as the Planning Manager for the City of Westminster, overseeing all planning and zoning activities. David then joined the City and County of Broomfield as the Planning Director, and later became the Director of Community Development, managing multiple divisions. In 2020, they joined the Town of Snowmass Village as the Community Development Director. In addition to their professional roles, David also volunteered as an Assistant Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 212 and worked as a soccer referee as an independent contractor.

David Shinneman earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration and Land Use Planning from Northern Arizona University from 1981 to 1984. David went on to pursue further education, obtaining a Master of Science degree in Urban and Regional Planning and Public Administration from Florida State University from 1986 to 1990.
