Daraius Irani

Daraius Irani is the Vice President for the Division of Strategic Partnerships and Applied Research at Towson University. Daraius has held this position since August 2016. Prior to that, they served as the Interim Vice President for the same division from April 2016 to August 2016.

Irani has been with Towson University since 2007, when they started as the Associate Vice President for the Division of Innovation and Applied Research. In 2014, they were promoted to Vice President. In their current role, they manage and directs a team of professionals across four broad areas: Applied Research and Technical Services, which includes economic and policy analysis, GIS, IT services and management consulting; Center for Professional Studies, which provides in-person, online non-credit training programs to individuals as well as state agencies; Entrepreneurship, which consists of an incubator, student launchpad as well as entrepreneurship programming; and Office of Partnerships and Outreach, which manages many of the University's partnership relations, DIAR event management, as well as managing DIAR's blog and social media strategy.

Irani has a long history of working in strategic partnerships and applied research. Daraius has been with Towson University for over 10 years and has held various positions within the Division of Innovation and Applied Research. Daraius is a highly respected leader within the university and is known for their dedication to their work and their team.

Daraius Irani earned a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from the University of California, San Diego. Daraius then went on to earn a Master's Degree in Business Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Finally, they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
