Prasanna Kankanala

Director, Research And Development at Trace Genomics

Prasanna Kankanala has a diverse and extensive work experience. Prasanna is currently working at Trace Genomics as the Director of Research and Development since February 2023. Prior to this, they held various roles at Trace Genomics, including Manager of Soil Sciences, Science Lead for Next-Gen Products, Lead Assay Development, and Senior Process Development Scientist.

Before joining Trace Genomics, Prasanna worked as an Adjunct Faculty at Murray State College from July 2015 to August 2020. Prasanna also served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Noble Research Institute LLC from May 2014 to June 2019. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Research Associate at Kansas State University from January 2014 to March 2014 and as a Visiting Research Scientist at Kansas State University from February 2013 to July 2013.

Prasanna also has experience as an Adjunct Faculty at National University, Ontario, California from March 2012 to February 2013. Additionally, they worked at Edenspace Systems Corporation as a Scientist in Molecular Biology from June 2010 to August 2010 and as a Senior Research Associate III from June 2008 to May 2010.

Prasanna's earliest work experience was as a Graduate Research Associate at Kansas State University from May 2002 to December 2007. Overall, Prasanna has a strong background in research and development, with a focus on soil sciences and molecular biology.

Prasanna Kankanala pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from 2001 to 2002 at Kansas State University. Subsequently, from 2002 to 2007, they obtained a Ph.D. in Genetics from the same university.
