Summary:

NPI Engineer

We are looking for a strong New Product Introduction (NPI) Manager to join our Mexican manufacturing team. You will work closely with our engineering and manufacturing teams in San Jose to set up and build our products. The NPI Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing the successful introduction of new products from conception to launch. This position requires strong project management skills, technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities:

    1. Project Management:
      • Lead the NPI process from initial planning through to product launch, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
      • Develop detailed project plans, including resource allocation, timelines, and risk management strategies.
      • Coordinate activities across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality assurance, and marketing teams to ensure seamless execution.
    2. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
      • Act as the central point of contact for all NPI activities, fostering collaboration and communication between different departments.
      • Facilitate regular meetings with stakeholders to review progress, address challenges, and make key decisions.
    3. Technical Expertise:
      • Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the NPI process, including design for manufacturability (DFM) reviews and prototype testing.
      • Work closely with engineering teams to resolve technical issues and optimize product designs for cost-effectiveness and scalability.
    4. Quality Assurance:
      • Implement robust quality control measures to ensure that new products meet or exceed customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
      • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track product quality and reliability throughout the NPI lifecycle.
    5. Continuous Improvement:
      • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes, reduce time-to-market, and enhance overall NPI efficiency.
      • Conduct post-launch reviews and gather feedback to inform future NPI projects and improve organizational learning.

Required Experience:

  • A results-oriented and dedicated personality with proven creative and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Python programming language skills
  • Excellent English language skills
  • Proven experience (10 years) in NPI management or a similar role within a manufacturing or technology-driven organization.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully launching complex products on schedule and within budget.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and supply chain management.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Project, JIRA, ERP systems).

Nice to Haves:

Knowledge of wireless protocols and hardware (BLE, Lora, Cell, etc.)

Ability to use E-cad tools (Altium, Eagle, Kicad)

knowledge of adhesives or experience designing enclosures

Familiar with SolidWorks and LabVIEW
