Simon King

Simon King has worked in a variety of roles across a number of companies since 2010. In 2011, they were a Site Manager for The Sabre Charitable Trust. From 2010 to 2012, they were a Post Doctoral Research Associate at Imperial College London, researching into novel nanostructured organic photovoltaics. In 2012, they became a Partner in the Ventures Team at Octopus Ventures, helping to change the world. In 2014, they became a Non Executive Director at Origami Energy, SmartKem Limited, and Surrey NanoSystems Ltd. In 2015, they became a Non Executive Director at TRAFI. Finally, in 2016, they became a Non Executive Director at WaveOptics, which was acquired by Snap in 2021.

Simon King's education history includes a PhD in Solar Energy/Plastic Electronics from Imperial College London, which they completed between 2006 and 2010. Simon obtained an Msc in Physics from the University of Cambridge between 2002 and 2006. Prior to that, they attended Magdalen College School between 1997 and 2002. In addition, they have obtained a number of certifications, including Superforecasting Fundamentals from Good Judgment Inc in 2019, Automata from Coursera in 2013, Neural Networks for Machine Learning from Coursera in 2012, Berkleyx: CS188.1x: Artificial Intelligence from edX in 2012, and MITx: 6.002x: Circuits and Electronics from edX in 2012.
