George Spyrou

George Spyrou is a Risk and Market Analyst at Trafigura since December 2023, focusing on various aspects of the energy sector including the Fos-sur-Mer Refinery and global aviation gasoline markets. Prior achievements include winning first place in Glencore’s global commodity trading competition among 900 applicants, utilizing advanced trading strategies. George has also completed a Level 4 Diploma in Applied Finance through trading simulations and engaged in high-frequency trading competitions with Optiver. Prior experience includes an Investment Banking Summer Analyst role at Panmure Gordon, a Quant Analyst placement at Schroders, and leadership as Treasurer of the Loughborough Economics Society. Educational qualifications include an MSc in Mathematical Finance and a BSc in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Warwick and Loughborough University, respectively.
