About Us

We are the makers of casual mobile hit Love & Pies, which launched in September 2021 and has now found its way into the hands of millions of players worldwide. We’re backed by Supercell, one of the biggest and best in the industry.

We make snackable yet nourishing games for everyone—built to fit into your daily life but with the emotional depth of your favourite TV show. Our team always comes first at Trailmix, and our culture is built on high performance and high care. We strive to be the best versions of ourselves, but always within an environment based on inclusivity, respect, and safety, no matter who you are or where you come from.

About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and hands-on Game Economy Designer to make a significant impact on one of the leading games in a still young and evolving genre where Game Economy will be key to unlocking its full potential.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about taking ownership of the game economy vision, diving into the complexities of a game in live operations, helping the game team balance, optimise, and analyse the holistic player experience through the lens of game economy.

Spreadsheets, simulations, and data will be your tools as you aim to optimise and scale the systems of Love & Pies to improve player experience and achieve business objectives - while respecting the creative vision and, ultimately, our players.

Responsibilities

  • Translate product and design vision into workable economy and balancing models, simulations, and resulting inputs, as well as feature designs and proposals that impact game success
  • Design and create new tools and simulations to help you achieve your mission including but not limited to spreadsheets
  • Drive meaningful impact on performance metrics while safeguarding the creative intent of individual features and the overall creative vision
  • Continually monitor and optimise the game economy coming up with ways to improve the player experience as well as game performance
  • Manage the entire feature economy design lifecycle and contribute to setting the feature economy design
  • Analyse data and provide insights as part of the product lifecycle, giving clear guidance and instructions to the data team and others.
  • Help shape the overall direction of the game by providing actionable game economy insights
  • Draw inspiration from the broader F2P market and bring exciting new initiatives to the table

Requirements

  • Significant experience working in systems/economy design or product management in a live service game
  • Strong technical skills in modelling game economies through spreadsheets and/or more advanced simulations
  • Understanding and ownership of how the interaction of systems and currencies affects the holistic experience of the game.
  • Expertise in virtual economies with proven experience in designing and modelling systems, items, characteristics, price points, sources, and sinks
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in drawing insights from complex data
  • Ability to work closely with a cross-discipline game team including game designers, product managers, developers, data scientists, and artists
  • Technical data analysis skills such as SQL are a plus
  • Hands-on Unity experience is a plus.
