Kelvin Koay

Kelvin Koay has extensive work experience in the energy industry, specifically in management and commercial roles. Kelvin started their career as an Engineer at TransAlta in 2000 and progressively moved up the ranks, holding positions such as West Real Time Trader, Asset Optimizer, and Portfolio Optimization Manager. In 2007, they became a Business Development Manager and later transitioned to Commercial Manager and Director of Commercial Management. From 2015 to 2016, Kelvin served as the Managing Director of Commercial at TransAlta. Subsequently, they held the position of Managing Director of Australia from 2017 to 2021, before becoming the Vice President and Managing Director of Australia until 2023. Currently, they serve as the Vice President of Growth for TransAlta in Australia.

Outside of their work with TransAlta, Kelvin also served as a Co-chair of the Board of Directors for the Calgary Dragon Boat Society from 2010 to 2014.

From 1996 to 2000, Kelvin Koay pursued a degree in Engineering (Mechanical) at the University of Calgary.
