Valerie Chort

Valerie Chort has a wide range of work experience in various leadership positions related to corporate citizenship, sustainability, and risk management. Valerie has served as an Independent Director at Legrand since June 2023 and as a Corporate Director at both North West Rubber Group and Transat since 2023 and 2022, respectively. Prior to these roles, Valerie worked at RBC from 2015 to 2023, where they held the positions of VP Corporate Citizenship and Sustainability, as well as Executive Director of RBC Foundation. Before their time at RBC, Valerie was a Partner at Deloitte from 2001 to 2015, specializing in enterprise risk and sustainability services. Valerie also served as the VP of EHS at Husky Injection Molding Systems from 1994 to 2001 and as a Manager at Arthur D. Little from 1991 to 1994. Valerie's career began at the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, where they worked as a Wastewater Engineer from 1989 to 1991.

Valerie Chort has a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Chemical Engineering from the University of Ottawa. Valerie also holds a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Biochemistry from the same university.
