Jawad Ahmad

Jawad Ahmad has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Jawad has worked as a Project Development Lead at Transgrid, where they managed scoping, feasibility studies, and technical bids for renewable projects. Jawad also handled grid connections and augmentations. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Project Developer at Transgrid, overseeing the development of non-prescribed and unregulated projects, as well as renewable generator connections and modifications. Jawad led bid and design development for significant projects in conjunction with proponents, contractors, and government entities.

Before joining Transgrid, Jawad worked as a Project Manager at Alinta Energy, where they focused on development and procurement. Jawad also served as a Construction Project Manager at Confluence Water, where they successfully delivered sewer main construction projects in a closed-knit community.

Further back in their career, Jawad worked as a Project Manager and OPEX Program Delivery Manager at Jemena, where they successfully managed gas assets relocation projects and delivered complex operational programs. Jawad also held roles as a Portfolio Controls Planner and Program Planner at Jemena, overseeing project progress, risk management, and planning for gas distribution assets.

Earlier in their career, Jawad worked as a Process and Operations Manager at Sapphire Fibers Limited, where they monitored and managed a team to meet production targets, and as a Process Engineer at Tufail Chemical Industries Ltd.

Jawad Ahmad has a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Sydney. Jawad also has a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of the Punjab. In addition, they obtained a Diploma in Project Management from the Australian College of Project Management in 2016 and became a Certified Professional Project Manager (CPPM) from the Australian Institute of Project Management AIPM in 2018.
