Gerry Doolan

Gerry Doolan currently serves as a Senior Coatings Engineer in the Global Engineering Group at Transitions Optical since November 2013, providing technical support in coating delivery systems and implementing Best Demonstrated Practice systems to enhance business KPIs. Prior to this role, Gerry was a Senior Process Technologist at Carl Zeiss Vision from 2006 to November 2013, focusing on the development and transfer of new ophthalmic coating technologies. Gerry's earlier experience includes working as a Plant Chemist at Sola Optical from 1988 to 2006, where technical support was provided for the casting and coating processes of ophthalmic lenses, as well as customer technical assistance. Gerry began a career as a Research Chemist at Sir Patrick Dun's Hospital from 1987 to 1988, specializing in HPLC analysis during clinical trials. Gerry holds a Bachelor's Degree in Analytical Chemistry from Dublin City University and attended Kevin St. College of Technology for earlier education.
