Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Translink

Martin Potappel has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Martin started their career in 1996 as the Director of IT's Logic, where they managed various internet-related products and services. In 2012, they joined Translink Systems BV as a Fraud Manager and Security Advisor, responsible for implementing and maintaining the national OV-chipkaartsysteem in the Netherlands. Martin stayed with the company until 2013. In 2014, Martin became the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Trans Link Systems B.V., focusing on ensuring secure and reliable transportation services for everyone.

Martin Potappel has a diverse education history in the field of IT, security, and privacy. In 1992 to 1994, they attended Saxion University of Applied Sciences, where they obtained a degree in Computer Science. Later, in 1995 to 1996, they pursued an MBA at the University of Twente, specializing in the Twente School of Management.

In 2012, Martin enrolled in a CISSP program offered by ICS2, focusing on Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance. Following that, in 2017, they pursued certifications in CISM and CIPT from ISACA and IAPP respectively, both in the field of Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance.

Furthermore, Martin's educational journey continued in 2017 as they attended IAPP to achieve the titles of Certified Information Privacy Technologist and Certified Information Privacy Professional Europe. These certifications provided him with expertise in the Europese Privacy Verordening GDPR/AVG.

Finally, in 2018, they attended another program at CISM to expand their knowledge in IT, Security, and Privacy, obtaining certificates for CISM, CISSP, CIPT, CIPP/e, and an MBA.
