Marie-Helene Roy is an experienced marine operations professional currently serving as the Manager Operations Marine for the Atlantic Region at the Transportation Safety Board of Canada since January 2022. Previously, Roy held managerial roles in Navigation Safety and Radiocommunications, as well as serving as a Senior Marine Safety Inspector at Transport Canada from December 2014 to December 2021. With a solid background in marine operations, Roy has worked as Chief Officer on bulk carriers with Groupe Desgagnés and served as Chief Officer and Chief Cargo on the Erasmusgracht for Nunavut Eastern Arctic Shipping. Early career experience includes positions as Officer of the Watch, primarily in the Canadian Arctic and Great Lakes regions, along with teaching at the Institut maritime du Québec. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies and ongoing pursuit of a Master's degree in Maritime Management from Memorial University.
