Ziad Barbarawi

Assistant Resident Engineer at TranSystems

Ziad Barbarawi has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Their most recent position was as an Assistant Resident Engineer at TranSystems starting from 2019. Before that, Ziad worked at Parsons Brinckerhoff in the USA (now WSP USA) for over 13 years as a Sr Construction Engineer. Ziad was involved in significant projects such as the reconstruction of the Wacker Drive Viaduct in Chicago. Ziad also worked as a self-employed Consulting Structural Engineer from 2000 to 2004, where they managed projects and designed structural steel and reinforced concrete. Prior to that, they held roles at Cleveland Steel Specialty and Ideal Steel as a Sr. Project Manager/Structural Engineer, where they handled project management, design, estimating, and coordination duties.

Ziad Barbarawi earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Structural Engineering from the University of Detroit Mercy between 1986 and 1988. In addition to their degree, they have obtained additional certifications such as "Documentation of Contract Quantities" from IDOT (obtained in April 2021) and "OSHA 30 HRS" from the OSHA Safety Training Institute (obtained in February 2021).
