Danielle Vlemmiks has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Danielle started their career in 2002 at MDA as a Proposals Manager, where they remained until 2005. Following this, they worked as an Independent Public Relations Consultant from 2005 to 2007. From 2007 to 2009, they served as a Project Manager at Prime Interiors Inc. Danielle then joined the Government of Canada as a Communications Advisor and Media Spokesperson from 2009 to 2014. In 2014, they moved to The City of Calgary, where they worked as a Communications Strategist for the Calgary Fire Department until 2016. Danielle then joined Destination Canada as the Director of Corporate Relations and Stakeholder Outreach from 2016 to 2017. In 2017, they started working at Mount Royal University as a Professor of Public Relations, a role they continue to hold. Additionally, since 2017, they have also been associated with Travel Alberta, initially as the Director of Stakeholder Engagement and Communications, and currently as the Vice President of Strategy, Research, and Communications.
Danielle Vlemmiks has a strong education background with a variety of degrees and certifications. Danielle began their education journey at The University of British Columbia, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from 1997 to 2001. Following this, they furthered their education at Royal Roads University, earning a Master of Arts degree in International and Intercultural Communications from 2005 to 2007.
Continuing their education, Danielle further enhanced their skills and knowledge by completing a Project Management Extension Certificate in Project Management from Mount Royal University in 2014. During the same year, they also studied French Language and Literature at Alliance Francaise, although it is unclear if they obtained a degree in this field.
