Olivia Bergman

Olivia Bergman currently serves as Director at Sabbatical since August 2024, where involvement includes two innovative projects. Previously, Olivia held the position of Director of Policy Innovation and Behavioral Economist at Propel, Inc. from April 2022 to July 2024, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship under Richard Thaler at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, focusing on behavioral public policy between July 2020 and April 2022. Notable recent work includes a large-scale randomized controlled trial in collaboration with Australia's largest bank aimed at improving access to government benefits for 7 million customers. Academically, Olivia earned a Ph.D. in Political Science and Government from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, alongside a B.A. summa cum laude in Peace and Justice Studies, Spanish, and Psychology from Wellesley College. Additional experience includes research and program management roles at various organizations addressing poverty, violence prevention, and consumer behavior, as well as a strong educational background from institutions across multiple countries.
