Karmilla Susilawati has work experience in various roles and companies. In 2017, they worked as a Delegate at Joint Statement Forum at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta. In 2018, they interned at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) as part of an internship program and also served as a Delegate at the Pertemuan Nasional Mahasiswa Hubungan Internasional se-Indonesia. From 2018 to 2020, they participated in the Forum Komunikasi Mahasiswa Hubungan Internasional se-Indonesia (FKMHII). In 2020, they worked as a Freelance Writer at RTC. In 2021, they worked as an Alih Teks at PT Kompas Media Nusantara from March to October and joined Travelio as a Customer Service Representative in October.

Karmilla Susilawati obtained their Bachelor's degree in International Relations and National Security Studies from Institut Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik Jakarta. Karmilla attended the institution from 2016 to 2020.
