Emily Downes

Emily Downes has worked in the travel industry since 2012. From 2012 to 2013, they worked at World Odyssey as a Work Experience student, preparing country fact files and itineraries and learning the reservations process. Emily then moved to Akaza in 2013 as a Reservations and Office Manager, running both the long and short term departments. In 2014, they joined Noble Caledonia as a Travel Consultant, Junior Travel Consultant and Reservations Administrator, overseeing bookings from initial enquiry to departure for a variety of tours. In 2016, they joined British Airways as Mixed Fleet Cabin Crew, providing safety and security and customer service in economy, premium economy, business and first class on short and long haul flights. Finally, in 2018 they joined TravelLocal as a Travel Product Development Manager, Customer & Product Executive and Customer Experience Executive. In this role, they were responsible for destination expansion, running social media accounts and providing customer support. During April/May 2020, they personally handled all client contact and helped to bring the company's NPS score up to 91.

Emily Downes graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts (BA); MA Cantab in Modern and Medieval Languages: Spanish & French. Prior to this, they attended Our Lady's Abingdon from 2003 to 2010.
