Damian Hickey

Damian Hickey has extensive work experience in the travel industry. Damian started their career as a Software Engineer at Logica VTS in 1984 and then worked as a Senior Software Engineer at IPL Limited from 1985-1986. Damian then joined Wescan Europe Limited as a Senior Manager from 1986-1990, followed by a role as Regional Director, Asia Pacific at Westinghouse Canada Inc. from 1990-1993.

From 1993-1996, Damian served as the Regional Director Europe, Middle East & Africa at Wescan Europe Limited, where they represented the parent company on the board and worked with the Irish Government Development Authority on various projects. Damian then joined Northrop Grumman Corporation as the Manager of Internet Products, responsible for launching new internet-based products.

Damian's career took him to Datalex from 1997-2005, where they served as the Senior Vice President of Commercial, overseeing the global commercial operation of the company. Damian then joined Amadeus as the Vice President of the Airline Business Group from 2005-2009, focusing on growing the company's airline business in the Asia Pacific region.

In 2009, Damian joined SITA as the Regional Vice President of South Asia & India, where they managed sales and relationship management for various customers in the aviation industry. Damian grew revenues and new business contracts through go-to-market initiatives.

Damian'smost recent role is at Travelport, where they have held two positions. From 2012-2018, they served as the Vice President Asia Pacific & Global Sales Strategy, responsible for the commercial activities in the Asia Pacific region. In 2018, they were promoted to the role of Global Vice President & Global Head of Air - Travel Partners, where they lead a worldwide team and oversees the company's air content strategy and commercial relationship with airline partners.

Damian Hickey obtained a B.A. (Mod) Hons degree in Computer Science from Trinity College Dublin between 1980 and 1984. In 2007, they attended IE Business School for a short period and received an ADEP degree in Finance, Marketing, Strategy, People.
