Israel Matos

Israel Matos has worked in a variety of roles in the scientific field over the past decade. In 2021, they began working as a Scientist I for Treadwell Therapeutics, Inc. Prior to this, they were a Lead Scientist, Pipeline Expansion (Immuno-oncology) and Research Associate - Preclinical Research for KisoJi Biotechnology Inc. from 2020. From 2014 to 2020, they worked at The University of British Columbia as a Graduate Research Assistant, Teaching Assistant - 3rd year undergraduate laboratory course, Teaching Assistant - 4th year undergraduate course, Teaching Assistant - 2nd year undergraduate course, and Teaching Assistant - 3rd year undergraduate laboratory course. In 2013, they worked as a Distance Learning Tutor for Federal University of Santa Catarina. In 2012, they were an R&D Summer Intern for Amgen and in 2009, they worked on a Pharmacology Honour's Project Research for Federal University of Santa Catarina.

Israel Matos has a comprehensive education history. Israel began their studies in 2009 at Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, where they completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biological Sciences in 2013. In 2012, they participated in an exchange program at Washington State University, also in Biological Sciences. In 2014, they began their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Microbiology and Immunology at The University of British Columbia, which they completed in 2021. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, such as the Instructional Skills Workshop from The University of British Columbia in 2017, the 10th Summer School on Medicines from Universidade de São Paulo in 2016, and Managing Your Time, Money, and Career: MBA Insights for Undergraduates from Coursera in 2014. More recently, they have obtained certifications from LinkedIn and Coursera in 2022 and 2020, respectively.
