Matthew Jeffries

Matthew Jeffries is an experienced professional in government relations and public affairs, currently serving as the General Manager for Government, External Relations and Tenures at Tri-Star Group since September 2022. Previously, Matthew held various leadership roles, including General Manager and Senior Manager at the Minerals Council of Australia from February 2021 to September 2022, and Chief of Staff in the Office of the Opposition Leader from July 2016 to November 2020. An established expert in land access and community investment, Matthew has also contributed to Santos Ltd in multiple capacities between 2012 and 2016, and served as a Senior Policy Advisor in the Office of the Treasurer and Minister for Trade. Matthew's educational background includes a Master's degree in Economics from The University of Queensland and a Bachelor's degree in Business/Managerial Economics from Griffith University, complemented by a Company Directors Course at the Australian Institute of Company Directors, set to be completed in February 2024.
