Chun Wong

Chun Wong has a diverse work experience in the field of information security. They have held various roles in different companies, starting from 2001 to the present.

Chun Wong worked as an Internal Auditor - IT at BNP Paribas from 2001 to 2014, where they conducted audits and assessments of IT infrastructure and services.

From 2014 to 2015, Chun Wong worked as an Information Security Manager and Data Protection Officer (Interim) at MAXIMUS, where they developed and implemented an Information Security Management System aligned with ISO27001.

In 2015, Chun Wong served as an Information Security Manager (Interim) at Earthport plc, overseeing security measures for cross-border payment transfers.

From 2016 to 2018, Chun Wong worked as an Information Security Consultant (Interim) at Hitachi Capital, where they designed and delivered security assurance programs and promoted information security as a value provider.

From 2018 to 2019, Chun Wong worked as an Information Security Advisor and later as an Information Security Manager (Interim) at Formula 1. In this role, they set strategic direction for information security, deployed ISMS and Cyber Essentials Plus, and created GDPR frameworks aligned with ISO standards.

In 2020, Chun Wong had interim roles as an Information Security Consultant at a fintech startup and as an Information Security Assurance Manager at Legal & General, providing consultancy on third-party assurance and business process improvement.

In 2021, Chun Wong served as an Information Security Manager at Apperio, a scale-up company specializing in legal spend management. They achieved SOC2 Type II attestation and successful ISO27001 surveillance audit.

Currently, Chun Wong is working as the Head of Information Security at Tricent, a scale-up company offering collaboration and sharing services with automated control, insight, and compliance.

Chun Wong completed a BSc (Hons) in Information Technology at Sheffield Hallam University. Afterward, Chun pursued an MSc in Interactive Systems Computing Design at Loughborough University, specializing in project management, man-machine studies, SD lifecycle, PRINCE, and metrics within the field of IT.

In terms of additional certifications, Chun obtained several qualifications. These include TOGAF® Foundation from The Knowledge Academy in March 2016, COBIT 5 from APMG in February 2013, First Aid At Work and Basic life support & AED from UK HSE in November 2010, CISA and CISM from ISACA in December 2008, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)² in December 2007.

Chun also has certifications such as Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) from IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals, General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) Practitioner from IBITGQ, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor from IBITGQ, ITIL V3 Foundation in IT Service Management from the Office of Government Commerce, ITIL V3 Service Offerings & Agreements from the Office of Government Commerce, PCI DSS 3.1 Implementation & Maintenance from IBITGQ, Prince 2 Foundation, and Prince 2 Practitioner (v2009) from the Office of Government Commerce. Chun is also pursuing The Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) certification, also offered by IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals.
