Chief Engineer at Trillium Flow Technologies

Russell Owen has over 30 years of experience in engineering and technical management roles. Russell is currently serving as the Chief Engineer at Trillium Flow Technologies since July 2019. Prior to this, they worked as the Chief Engineer at Weir Power & Industrial from December 2015 to June 2019.

From 2013 to 2015, Russell was employed as the Engineering Manager at OneSubsea, Subsea Systems, where they led a team of design engineers focused on engineering upgrades and improvements of equipment already in service. Russell was also responsible for budgetary control and resource utilization.

Earlier in their career, Russell held the position of Chief Engineer Control Valves at Weir Power & Industrial from 2008 to 2012. Russell was responsible for a team of design engineers and provided technical engineering support to global manufacturing sites and sales hubs. Russell also played a key role in product development and training.

From 2002 to 2008, Russell served as the Head of Design Services at Severn Unival Ltd. Russell led a team of design engineers and specialized in offering bespoke engineering solutions and upgrades in the valve industry, particularly in oil and gas and power generation sectors.

Before joining Severn Unival Ltd, Russell worked as the Technical Director at Lancashire Fittings Ltd from 1992 to 2002. Russell was responsible for all technical aspects of stainless steel fittings and fabrications. Russell also represented the company on BSI committees and revised the ISO 9001 quality manual.

Russell started their career in 1981 as the Technical Manager, Control Valves at J Blakeborough and Sons Ltd, where they gained expertise in control valve technology before progressing to higher managerial roles.

Russell Owen attended the University of Leeds from 1978 to 1981, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Mechanical Engineering.
