John Stephens

John Stephens is a seasoned music professional with extensive experience in educational and musical leadership. Currently serving as the Director of Music at Inspiration Trust since April 2016, John has played a pivotal role in developing music programs across 13 schools in Norfolk and North Suffolk. As a Music Education Consultant, John has further enhanced music provision across 12 schools. Other roles include Local Area Representative for Trinity College London and Deputy Alto Lay Clerk at Norwich Cathedral, where John provides crucial support for various choral services. John's entrepreneurial spirit is evident in ownership of JS Music Services Ltd since 2002, and previous positions have included Organist & Choirmaster at Great Yarmouth Minster and Gresham's School. John has also lectured at the University of East Anglia, imparting knowledge in conducting, theory, aural training, and keyboard skills. Academic credentials include a Master of Music in Conducting and a BA in Music from the University of East Anglia, alongside A Levels in Music, English Literature, and French.
