Michael Bacon

VP, Alumni Relations & Development at Trinity University

Michael Bacon is currently the Vice President for Alumni Relations & Development at Trinity University. Michael has over 20 years of experience in fundraising, working with a variety of nonprofits in Texas. Michael is a well-respected authority in the field, and has been instrumental in helping many organizations achieve their fundraising goals.

Bacon started their career in 1998 as a Grants Manager with the Kronkosky Charitable Foundation. In this role, they were responsible for working with nonprofits applying for a grant, and providing assistance throughout the process. Michael would meet with the staff, Board and clients of the nonprofit to learn more about their goals and mission. After a thorough review, the Board of the Foundation would determine if the nonprofit would receive a grant.

In 1999, Bacon left Kronkosky to start their own fundraising consulting firm, Bacon Lee and Associates. The firm quickly became one of the most respected firms in Texas, working with nonprofits of all sizes to help them achieve their fundraising goals. Bacon has been recognized as an expert in capital campaigns, annual funds, strategic development plans, board training and nonprofit job searches. Michael has also worked with charitable foundations, assisting them in creating grants processes and conducting due diligence on potential grants.

Bacon has been working in the field of alumni relations and development since 2015. In this role, they are responsible for Trinity University's alumni relations and development programs. Michael works closely with Trinity's alumni to keep them engaged with the university and to support Trinity's fundraising efforts. Bacon is also responsible for Trinity's annual fund, which provides essential support for the university's academic programs and scholarships.

Bacon is a graduate of Trinity University, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Michael also holds a Master's degree in Philanthropy and Development from St. Mary's University.

Michael Bacon has a MBA from the Texas McCombs School of Business and a BA in Michael'story from Trinity University. Michael also has certification from CFRE International in CFRE.

Michael Bacon reports to Vanessa B. Beasley, President. They are on a team with Eric Maloof - Vice President for Enrollment Management, Sheryl Tynes - Vice President for Student Life, and Darsh Preet Singh - Co-Founder and Chief Investment Officer.
