Martin Traverso

Martin Traverso is an accomplished technology leader with extensive experience in software engineering and architecture. Currently serving as Chief Technology Officer at Starburst Data since September 2019, Martin is also a co-founder of the Trino Software Foundation, established in January 2019. Previously, Martin contributed to Facebook as a Software Engineer from April 2012 to December 2018, where Trino, an open-source distributed SQL query engine, was created. Martin's background includes roles at Proofpoint, Ning, and Fuego, Inc., with expertise ranging from systems architecture to principal and chief architect positions. Martin holds both MS and BS degrees in Computer Science from Drexel University, further complemented by education from Universidad Austral in Buenos Aires.
