Paula Guntaur

Paula Guntaur has a diverse work experience in the field of UX research and design.

From 2021 to the present, they have been working at Tripadvisor, initially as a UX Research Director and later being promoted to Senior Director, UX Research.

Prior to Tripadvisor, they worked at Scholastic from 2018 to 2021 as a Design Research Director, leading a research team focused on literacy and education.

Paula also had experience at FiftyThree, Inc. from 2013 to 2017, where they served as a Design Director and later as a UX Research Director. During their time at FiftyThree, they played a key role in product design decisions, conducted user research, and contributed to the growth of user and media usage.

Before that, they were an Associate Creative Director at R/GA from 2011 to 2013, leading a team for the NIKE Commerce account and overseeing projects related to the user experience of NIKEiD on mobile and the in-store NIKE clientelling platform.

Their earlier experience includes being a Product Design Lead at Microsoft from 2008 to 2011, where they led the design teams for Windows Phone 7 Services and the communication feature area of Windows Phone KIN. Paula also worked as a Product Designer for Office 2010, specifically focusing on the 'Backstage' UI platform.

Paula Guntaur completed their education with a Bachelor's degree in Environment Design from the University of Quebec, where they attended from 2000 to 2003. Prior to that, they obtained a DEC (Diploma of Collegial Studies) in Industrial Design from Dawson College, where they studied from 1997 to 2000. Subsequently, they pursued their Master of Arts in Interaction Design from Umeå Institute of Design, which they completed between 2003 and 2005.
