Job Summary

Reporting to the VP of Human Resources, the Sr HR Generalist will be a collaborative team player with a friendly work style. The ideal individual will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities. The Sr HR Generalist will support the full scope of HR responsibilities including but not limited to compliance, recruiting, training, performance management, compensation, HRIS and benefit administration/payroll/systems/processes and special projects. The Sr HR Generalist will have the ability to work independently on projects, from conception to completion, and must be able to work under pressure at times to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion.

Duration: 2 to 3 months

Responsibilities

  • Manage benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, and communicating benefits information to employees. Administer and manage benefit programs such as health, dental, life, disability insurance plans, 401(k), leaves of absence.
  • Responsible for compliance with all relevant federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations, including (but not limited to) harassment and discrimination training, affirmative action program, EEO-1, and OSHA. Maintain records, reports, and logs as necessary to support reported data.
  • Responds to claims and inquiries: unemployment, disability, employment verification, etc.
  • Develop, implement and administer processes and procedures for on-boarding and off-boarding. Including processing paperwork for recruiting, offer letters, new hires, status changes and terminations.
  • Develop and manage various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures and employee handbook.
  • Maintain human resource information system records and generate management information reports and analysis, HR dashboard and metrics. Drive research and implementation of up to date HRIS/ATS systems.
  • Responsible for maintaining all employee and HR vendor files (electronic and printed) while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy of all records.
  • Maintain company organization charts.
  • Research, prioritize, and follows up on incoming issues and concerns including those of a sensitive or confidential nature. Determine appropriate course of action or response.
  • Provide a bridge for smooth communication between HR and internal teams; demonstrating leadership to maintain credibility, trust and support with senior management staff.
  • Maintain discretion and confidentiality in all matters.
  • Prioritize conflicting needs; handles matters expeditiously, proactively, and follow-through on projects to successful completion, often with deadline pressures.
  • Special projects, research and analysis - continual and ongoing research to build and maintain progressive HR programs and policies.

Education, Experience, and Skills

  • BA or equivalent in Business or HR strongly preferred.
  • Strong work tenure: 10+ years of experience minimum.
  • 10+ years of HR experience (min 100+employees, distributed workforce).
  • HR, training or certifications (e.g., PHR, SPHR) preferred.
  • Previous benefits and payroll processing experience preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable state and federal labor laws.
  • HRIS/database proficiency.
  • Experience with payroll processing (ADP WorkforceNow).
  • Experience with GreenHouse applicant tracking system a plus.
  • Strong MS Office (Word, PowerPoint), excellent Excel and analytics skills a must.
  • Familiar with MS Visio, Box, eLeap, NetSuite/OpenAir a plus.
  • Acute attention to detail is mandatory.
  • Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects/tasks, and also be extremely effective independently.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of customer/client service and response
  • Ability to maintain highest level of confidentiality, discretion and professionalism
  • Ability to anticipate change and react efficiently and expeditiously; adaptable and able to meet demands of a faced paced organization; flexibility with last minute changes
  • Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly, with the ability to deliver results on time.

  • Experience planning, managing and executing events and meetings.
  • Calm under pressure.
  • Sense of Humor and Passion for HR a must!

The hourly range for jobs which are performed in US, California is $50.00 to $65.00. Please note that the hourly range is a guideline and compensation may vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, experience, competencies and work location.

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which requires working onsite a minimum of 3 days per week: Tuesday, Wednesday, and 1-day of your choice. In certain circumstances the hybrid work model may change to accommodate business needs.
