Prashant Sarnaik

Prashant Sarnaik has extensive work experience in the agricultural commodities industry. Prashant started their career as an Agronomist at Nagarjuna Fertilizers and Chemicals Limited, where they conducted field trials on crops such as Paddy, Groundnut, Corn, and Chickpeas. Prashant later took on additional responsibilities for the Maharashtra region and worked with a variety of other crops.

Prashant then joined COFCO International as the India G&O Production Research Manager, focusing on grains and oilseeds production research. Prashant was responsible for analyzing data and providing insights into production trends.

After that, Prashant worked at Noble Group, where they held various roles including Senior Agronomist and India Production Lead. In these positions, they conducted research on crop weather forecasting and production for agricultural commodities such as Sugar, Cotton, Wheat, Paddy, Corn, Soybean, Groundnut, Rapeseed, and Sunflower. Prashant also played a key role in estimating Indian Sugarcane and Cotton production and coordinating supply research.

Most recently, Prashant worked at udaan.com as a Product Analyst, specializing in the Wheat Flour and Sugar categories. Prashant utilized their expertise in agricultural commodity analysis, data analytics, market research, and fundamental analysis to provide insights and trade recommendations.

Currently, Prashant is serving as the Head of Sugar Research (Supply & Demand) at Triveni Engineering & Industries Limited. Their responsibilities include analyzing global trade flows, export/import parities, government policies, and trade updates. Prashant also strategizes the selling of in-house sugar production and leads the communication of country-specific trade flow changes, policy changes, and market views to the sales and trading team. Additionally, they are involved in analyzing the sugar and ethanol industry policies and developing ethanol production models for India.

Prashant Sarnaik completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture at Marathwada Agriculture University, Parbhani from 2003 to 2007. Prashant then pursued a Master of Science degree in Agronomy and Crop Science at the University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad from 2008 to 2010.
