Kathleen Sobera has over 20 years of experience in healthcare operations and consulting. Currently, they serve as the Vice President of T-5 Clinical Operations at TriWest Healthcare Alliance. In this role, they are responsible for overseeing clinical operations.
Prior to their current position, Sobera founded their own consulting firm, KSobera Consulting, in 2017. As the owner and independent executive consultant, they provided leadership, consulting, and project support services related to healthcare operations for various entities. Their responsibilities included provider services operations, regional director roles, software process development, payment structure review, informatics system projects, policy development, accreditation support, and efficiency opportunities.
Before starting their own company, Sobera worked at Anthem, Inc. as the VP of Healthcare Management for Wellpoint Military Care. In this role, they were responsible for integrated care management services, including medical management programs, clinical system utilization, and workforce management.
Sobera also has extensive experience at TriWest Healthcare Alliance, where they held multiple roles over the years. As the Vice President of Medical Management Operations, they successfully implemented a new clinical information system and provided support for transitioning out of a large government contract. Additionally, they served as the Director of Population Health and Clinical Systems, Director of Disease Management, Clinical Data Systems, and Production Quality Systems, as well as a Senior and Case Manager.
Earlier in their career, Sobera worked at Diversified Healthcare Services as a Case Manager, UM and CM Program Administrator, and Medical Underwriter.
Kathleen Sobera holds a Master's Degree in Health/Health Care Administration/Management, which they obtained from the University of St. Francis between the years 2008 and 2010. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Health Services Administration from the same university from 1993 to 1995. Their educational journey began in 1978 when they attended the Akron General Medical Center School of Nursing. There, they completed a Diploma in Nursing, which they received in 1981. In addition to their formal education, Kathleen Sobera has also earned additional certifications. In 1999, they obtained a Licensed Registered Nurse certification from the Arizona State License. Later, in December 2012, they obtained a Certification in Managed Care Nursing, though no institution is specified for this particular certification.
