Colin Cooney is a seasoned professional with a focus on river conservation and wildlife management. Currently serving as the Montana Policy and Advocacy Director and formerly as the Montana Field Coordinator for Trout Unlimited since May 2015, Colin represents the organization and advocates for the conservation of Montana's rivers. Previous experience includes working as a Park Ranger for Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks, where responsibilities involved managing the Smith River State Park, and guiding outdoor activities at The Resort at Paws Up. Early career roles included positions as a Field Research Assistant at Montana State University, where research work concentrated on fish tracking and water quality testing, and as a Field Researcher for the US Fish and Wildlife Service, focusing on westslope cutthroat trout studies. Colin holds a Bachelor of Science in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Montana State University-Bozeman.
