Pauline Valkenet

Pauline Valkenet is an experienced journalist and correspondent with a career spanning over three decades. Currently serving as a correspondent and allround reporter for Trouw since 2001, Valkenet covers a wide range of topics including politics, culture, economics, and social developments, with a particular focus on Italy. Additionally, since August 2015, Valkenet has reported for BNR Nieuwsradio, concentrating on Italian political and economic news. As a collaborator for Internazionale since 2012, Valkenet highlights significant developments and debates from the Netherlands and Belgium. Previous roles include correspondent for RTL Nieuws and a freelance translator for Overtaal Language Services. Valkenet holds a Master’s Degree in Russian language and literature and Sovietology from the University of Amsterdam, further complemented by education from the University of Cambridge.
