Vava Tampa currently serves as the Chair of the British Association of Social Workers since November 2021 and also works as a freelance writer for TRT World and The Guardian since August 2019 and October 2013, respectively. As the Founder and Chief Advocate of Save the Congo! since August 2008, Vava has focused on advocacy efforts. Previous experience includes a brief tenure as a freelance writer for The Africa Report in July 2016 and a role as an elected committee member of Amnesty International's Student Action Network from November 2007 to November 2008, where responsibilities included representing student groups and organizing various events. Vava holds a degree in History and Politics from Queen Mary University of London (2007-2010) and A-levels in Sociology, French, and Politics from Richmond upon Thames College (2005-2007).
