Jay is an operating partner at TruArc, working with the firm’s Engineered Products and Components portfolio companies. He currently serves as chairman of Prototek and Ideal Tridon and vice chairman of Molded Devices and was formerly chairman of Boyd Corporation and Winchester.
Before joining TruArc, Jay was president and CEO of Edwards Systems Technology, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of commercial fire detection systems. During his decade-long tenure, Jay led the company during a period of substantial growth, increasing revenue from $100 million to $450 million — and eventually leading the sale of the business to General Electric. Before Edwards, Jay was a vice president of General Signal Corporation and held a number of senior management positions at United Dominion Industries Limited.
Jay received an M.B.A. from the Tuck School at Dartmouth College and a B.A. in Economics from Lawrence University.
