Matt Obrig

Matt Obrig, CPA has a robust work experience in accounting and finance. Matt has held various positions over the years, starting with their role as a Senior Accountant at US BioEnergy, where they developed and maintained capital policies and procedures, created reconciliations and reports, and implemented a capital project analysis tool.

Matt then moved on to become an Accounting Supervisor at Despatch Industries, overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets, while also managing a team. Matt worked closely with international subsidiaries and ensured compliance with bank covenants.

At Merrill Corporation, Matt served as a Senior Accountant, focusing on month-end close activities, journal entry creation and review, and process improvement. Matt'sexpertise in identifying variances and trends supported the Financial Planning and Analysis department.

Following this, Matt joined K2 Logistics as a Senior Accountant, taking charge of daily accounting functions, treasury operations, and month-end close for multiple legal entities. Matt also revised procedures for AP, AR, and general ledger activities and assisted with financial audits and tax filings.

Matt's career progression led him to Arcserve, where they held several positions. As an Assistant Controller, they designed revenue recognition review processes, developed financial statement reporting packages, and created expense reporting structures. Next, as an Accounting Manager, they redesigned VSOE calculation processes and integrated accounting data from an acquired business. Finally, as a Controller, Matt led the implementation of an Advanced Revenue Management solution, enhanced revenue reporting capabilities, and improved alignment with ASC606 guidelines.

Currently, Matt is working as the VP, Global Controller at TrueCommerce, where they completed the ASC 842 transition and developed journal entry, reporting, and reconciliation processes. Matt also compiles financial statements and provides commentary on trends and fluctuations to the management team and Board of Directors.

Matt Obrig, CPA holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from St. Olaf College. Matt also has an Associate of Arts and Sciences (AAS) degree in Accounting from Dakota County Technical College. In addition, they are a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with an active certification.
