Brock Bobbitt has a diverse work experience across various industries. Brock is currently the Chief Technology Officer at True Essence Foods since October 2022. Prior to this, they worked as an Adjunct Professor at Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis starting from January 2020.
Before that, they had a significant tenure at Rolls-Royce where they held multiple roles. Brock was a Combustion Specialist from July 2021 to October 2022, responsible for US Defense combustion strategy. Brock also served as the Head of Subsystem for combustion. Additionally, they worked as a Service Engineer from January 2020 to May 2022, where they integrated customer needs with technical analysis and provided leadership to resolve field issues on the Rolls-Royce LiftSystem in the F-35B Joint Strike Fighter. Brock managed failure analysis investigations and led cross-functional teams to meet customer requirements. Prior to these roles, from January 2018 till December 2019, they served as a Combustion Aerodynamics and emissions specialist, conducting analyses and designing combustor aerodynamics for various gas turbine engines. Brock also provided technical leadership for emissions regulatory compliance.
Before joining Rolls-Royce, Brock worked as an Associate at Exponent Failure Analysis Associates from April 2016 to December 2017. Brock managed projects and client relationships and utilized their engineering expertise to resolve client needs in areas such as regulatory compliance, safety, and hardware testing.
Earlier in their career, they worked as a Graduate Student at the California Institute of Technology from September 2011 to March 2016. During this time, they conducted research on premixed turbulent combustion and analyzed and reported on large amounts of data.
Brock'swork experience also includes being a Research Associate at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from February 2010 to May 2011, an Engineering Intern at Five Star Manufacturing in 2009, and an Engineering Intern at Navistar in 2008.
Brock Bobbitt completed their education history as follows: from 2007 to 2009, they attended Wheaton College and earned a degree in Liberal Arts Engineering with a focus on Engineering and General Studies. Later, from 2009 to 2011, they pursued their undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, majoring in Engineering with a specialization in Engineering Mechanics. Moving forward, from 2011 to 2013, Bobbitt continued their education at Caltech, where they obtained a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Finally, from 2011 to 2016, they remained at Caltech to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mechanical Engineering.
