Shannon Brown

Shannon Brown has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Shannon is currently working as the Director of User Experience at TrueML since February 2021. Prior to that, they worked at TrueAccord from 2016 to 2021, where they held the positions of Product Design Manager and User Experience Lead.

From 2014 to 2016, Shannon worked at DocuSign as a User Experience Lead, where they led the design of the Global Support Site and increased the self-service customer support deflection rates. Shannon also led the redesign of the DocuSign Community website.

Before that, they worked as a UX Consultant at Sage Bionetworks in 2014, where they gathered product requirements from biomedical scientists and developed use cases and wireframes for research apps. Shannon also collaborated to create an e-consent system.

Prior to that, Shannon worked at Zumobi as the Director of User Experience from 2009 to 2014. Shannon built and managed a team responsible for the user experience of numerous mobile apps and oversaw product strategy and design for top-ranking apps on iTunes. Shannon also implemented a user-centered product development process.

Earlier in their career, Shannon worked as a Senior User Experience Designer at Zumobi, spearheading user research and producing interaction specifications and visual designs for various media brand apps. Shannon also worked as an Experience Designer at Smilebox, managing partnerships and usability research.

In their early career, Shannon worked at Microsoft as an Interaction Designer, producing interaction specifications and designing interactive prototypes. Shannon also founded their own design studio, S. I. Carter Design, where they handled accounting, client liaison, and day-to-day operations for a range of design projects. Shannon also worked as a Producer at mTAO Multimedia, creating CD-ROMs and consulting on interaction design.

Shannon Brown holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Communications and New Media Technologies from the University of Washington. Additionally, they have a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Human Centered Design & Engineering, also from the University of Washington. In terms of additional certifications, Shannon is a Certified DocuSign Real Estate Trainer, which they obtained from DocuSign in October 2015.
