Mário Gaspar da Silva

Mário Gaspar da Silva has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Mário has been working as the head of research and innovation at Truewind since December 2020. Prior to that, they were a Professor at IST from 2011 to the present. Before joining IST, Mário owned FISHBONES, a company they established in 1996 and ran until 2019. Mário was also a Professor at the Faculty of Sciences University of Lisbon from 1996 to 2011. Mário was a Partner at PRAXIA from 1999 to 2010. Mário started their career as an Assistant Professor at IST in 1988 and stayed in that position until 1996. Mário worked as a Senior Software Engineer at EIT in Menlo Park, CA, from 1994 to 1995. Mário began their career in 1982 as a Student at INESC and later worked as a Software Engineer at EID from 1985 to 1987.

Mário Gaspar da Silva obtained their Lic. degree in Electrical Engineering/Telec. Electronics from Instituto Superior Técnico during the period from 1978 to 1983. Mário then pursued a Master's degree in E. Engineering/Telec & Computing from the same institute from 1978 to 1987. Finally, they completed their education by earning a PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley, between 1990 and 1994.
