Ping Zhang

Ping Zhang is a highly experienced engineer specializing in laser technology and test systems. Currently serving as a Senior Product Development Engineer at TRUMPF North America since October 2022, Ping Zhang focuses on high-power laser module development and has invented algorithms for QCW testing that enhance quality control. Previously, as a Senior Staff Engineer at ams OSRAM, Ping Zhang developed test equipment and innovative methods for VCSEL products, improving test accuracy for high power applications like Lidar. Earlier experience includes designing automated test systems as a Senior Test Engineer at Sumitomo (SHI) Cryogenics and conducting research on gravitational wave detection as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Louisiana State University. Ping Zhang holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Miami and a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Peking University.
