Maintenance Procurement Specialist

Your Mission

As a maintenance procurement specialist, you'll support procurement for timely and cost-effective material and service sourcing. Your responsibilities include coordinating maintenance activities, establishing PM requirements, optimizing schedules, and ensuring equipment efficiency. As the Planner/Scheduler, you'll supervise maintenance tasks, ensure part availability, maintain a parts library, review work orders for labor and priority, and prioritize safety.

• Issuing purchase orders and managing order confirmations to secure accurate and timely delivery of maintenance-related goods, aligning with operational schedules.
• Monitoring inventory levels and collaborating closely with inventory control to prevent shortages and minimize excess stock.
• Cultivating and maintaining relationships with existing suppliers to drive continual enhancement in quality, delivery, and cost.
• Identifying potential suppliers and soliciting competitive bids to diversify the supplier base and optimize procurement strategies.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including maintenance, engineering, and quality assurance, to assess material requirements and resolve procurement-related issues.
• Supporting cost-saving initiatives and value engineering projects by analyzing spending patterns, identifying cost reduction opportunities, and implementing efficient purchasing solutions.
• Utilizing procurement software and tools to maintain accurate records, monitor purchasing activities, and generate reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs).

Additionally, you will oversee maintenance planning and scheduling activities, ensuring effective execution of corrective and preventive maintenance tasks. Your responsibilities will include:

• Creating weekly plans and prioritizing maintenance activities.
• Leading scheduling meetings to align on upcoming work schedules.
• Managing critical spare parts and work orders within the CMMS.
• Ensuring all necessary materials, tools, and instructions are available for planned work orders.
• Collaborating with maintenance leaders and production supervisors to prepare assets for maintenance tasks.
• Monitoring and managing work order backlog and performance metrics.
• Participating in new projects such as predictive maintenance initiatives.
• Coordinating with external sources to ensure the availability of tools and service technicians as required.
• Providing feedback to improve the maintenance planning and scheduling process.

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of planning/scheduling experience, preferably with computerized maintenance management system experience (eMaint is advantageous).
• Post-secondary education in a technical field.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Comprehensive understanding of maintenance processes, work order systems, planning and scheduling, and supplier management principles.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects while ensuring progression to completion.
• Proficient in MS Office applications and NetSuite.
• Capability to interpret preventive maintenance feedback and implement action plans for improvement.
