Ümit Önal

Ümit Önal, who graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Communication, started his professional career in the media and communication sector and joined Turkuvaz Media Group in 2007 and served as ATV General Manager, Advertising Group President and Executive Board Member, respectively, until 2015.

In 2015, he served as Digiturk Board Member and General Manager.

He managed the sales process of Digiturk to BeIN Media Group.

Joining the Türk Telekom family as Assistant General Manager responsible for Sales and Customer Services at the end of 2016, Önal was appointed Assistant General Manager responsible for Marketing and Customer Services in December 2018; In August 2019, he was appointed as the CEO of the company. He also acts as the Deputy General Manager responsible for Marketing and Customer Services.

Önal, who has made significant contributions to the radical change process of the Turkish media with his experience of more than 20 years in the media and communication sector, continues to lead Turkey's digital and technological transformation within Türk Telekom.

He has been actively involved in national and international associations throughout his career. Önal, who served as the Chairman of the Board of the Mobile Telecommunication Operators Association (m-TOD) in 2020, is still active as the Chairman of the Television Monitoring and Research Committee (TİAK AŞ), Board Member of the Advertisers Association (RVD), International Investors Association (YASED). He continues his duties as a Member of the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) and as a Member of the American Business Council; He represents Türk Telekom in the Television Broadcasters Association (TVYD).
