Marc-Oliver Pahl

Marc-Oliver Pahl has extensive experience in the field of cybersecurity. Marc-Oliver currently works as a Full Professor of Cybersecurity at IMT Atlantique, where their research focuses on a holistic approach to cybersecurity, including security-by-design, anomaly detection, human-in-the-loop, and automation. Marc-Oliver also holds the positions of Chairholder and Research Director at Chaire Cyber CNI, where they lead a team working on cybersecurity for critical infrastructures.

In addition to their cybersecurity work, Marc-Oliver has served as the Coordinator for Future Education at the German-French Academy for the Industry of the Future (GFA), leading the academy's activities in this area. Marc-Oliver has also worked as an Associate Editor for the International Journal of Network Management (IJNM) at ACM.

Marc-Oliver's experience in academia includes roles at Technische Universität München, where they served as the Head of IoT Smart Space Research Team and coordinated the German-Finnish project DECENT. Marc-Oliver Pahl received their Diplom in Informatik and Medienwissenschaft from the University of Tübingen in 2008. Marc-Oliver then pursued a Dr. rer. nat. degree in Computer Science, Network Architecture and Services from the Technical University of Munich, which they completed in 2014. In addition to their academic degrees, Pahl also obtained various certifications, including a Zertifikat Hochschullehre der Bayerischen Universitäten - Vertiefungsstufe from the Technical University of Munich in 2018.
