Reid Alderson

Reid Alderson is a Junior Group Leader at Helmholtz Munich, supported by a Helmholtz Young Investigator fellowship from 2024 to 2029, and a TUM Junior Fellow at the Technical University of Munich, both starting in February 2024. Previously, Reid served as a Visiting Scientist at Medizinische Universität Graz from May 2022 to June 2023, specializing in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry. Prior experience includes a postdoctoral researcher position at the University of Toronto's Department of Biochemistry from March 2019 to February 2022, and a Ph.D. obtained at the University of Oxford from 2014 to 2018, focusing on the biophysical and structural characterization of the human molecular chaperone Hsp27. Additional training involved a pre-doctoral fellowship at the National Institutes of Health and research roles at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Reid holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biochemistry with Honors from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
