Tobias Michl's work experience begins in 2007 with an internship at GB Dr. Schönwolf. Tobias then went on to intern at Stadtjugendring Augsburg KdÖR in 2010 and Landratsamt Donau-Ries in 2011. From 2011 to 2013, they served as the Chief Editor of the European Geographer magazine for EGEA. In 2012, they worked as a Student Assistant for Professor Sabine Timpf at Universität Augsburg. Within the same institution, they also worked as a Student Assistant for Professor Gerd Peyke from 2013 to 2014. From 2014 to 2015, they served as a Research Assistant at the Chair of Human Geography at Universität Augsburg under Professor Thomas Schmitt. In 2015, they began working as a Research Assistant at ZHAW School of Engineering. Tobias then joined Green City AG in 2017 as a Project Lead & Consultant on Sustainable Mobility. In 2018, they started working at Adventure.Dream.Team. as an Advisory & Website team member. Finally, in 2020, they became a Sustainability Manager at the Technical University of Munich, and in 2023, they became the Head of the TUM Sustainability Office.

Tobias Michl completed their Diplom-Geography degree from the University of Augsburg in 2014. Prior to that, they earned their Abitur from Maria-Theresia-Gymnasium Augsburg in 2006, focusing on English and Geography.
