Alec Wilson

Alec Wilson has a diverse work experience in the field of software development. Alec currently holds the position of Senior Software Engineer at Tumelo, starting in November 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Hewlett Packard Enterprise from July 2021 to November 2022. Before their role at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Alec held multiple positions at CarePlanner Ltd from January 2019 to July 2021, starting as a Senior Developer and later becoming the Lead Developer.

Earlier in their career, Alec worked as a Software Developer at blubolt from September 2017 to December 2018. Alec also had a brief experience as a Graduate Student at the University of Bristol, where they completed the first two years of a PhD in Applied Mathematics and worked as a Teaching Assistant. Alec made the decision to leave the PhD program and pursue a full-time position as a software developer.

Prior to their academic pursuits, Alec worked as a self-employed Software Developer, taking on various freelance projects from May 2014 to August 2017. One of their notable projects during this time involved developing a website with an automated league system for a local squash club.

Alec's earliest experience in the industry was as a Software Developer at ARMAWARE LIMITED from May 2012 to September 2014. In this role, they created intranet-style systems using Microsoft Access (VBA) and then transitioned to web-based apps using PHP. Alec was involved in all stages of the software development cycle, from gathering requirements to deployment, maintenance, and ongoing development.

Alec Wilson attended the University of Birmingham from 2011 to 2015, where they pursued a degree in MSci with a focus on Theoretical Physics and Applied Mathematics.
