Fani Ttofali

Fani Ttofali has worked in a variety of roles since 2010. Starting in 2010, they were a Student Technician at Miami Dade College, where they were responsible for inventory management, preparing media solutions and chemical stocks, and maintaining a clean lab space. In 2013, they began working at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus as an Undergraduate Research Assistant for Dr. Christopher Evans Group, where they carried out stereological image quantification from challenged mouse lungs, performed histological assessment for intracellular mucin content of mouse tissue, and genotyped mouse DNA via PCR. Fani then became a Professional Research Assistant for Dr. Christopher Evans Group, where they independently developed an infrared fluorescence method for the co-labeling of airway mucins and lectins, performed immunoassays on mouse lung tissue to test the effectiveness of mucolytic drug candidates, and captured microscope images of human lung tissue and performed quantitative analysis of disease. In 2016, they began working at NC State Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering as a Research Assistant & Lab Manager for Dr. Chase Beisel and Dr. Nathan Crook, where they assessed the efficiency of multiplexed DNA cleavage for Cas9 and Cas12a using plasmid clearance assays in E. coli and investigated the dissociation behavior of the deactivated nuclease, dCas9, in a cell-free system. Finally, they are currently working at Tune Therapeutics as an Associate Scientist and Research Associate/ Lab Manager.

Fani Ttofali completed a Master of Biomanufacturing (MR) at North Carolina State University from 2018 to 2020, with a Concentration in Upstream & Bioscience Management. From 2012 to 2014, they completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biological Sciences at the University of Colorado Denver. In 2010, they attended Community College of Denver to study Biology/Biological Sciences, General, and also completed an ESL Program at Miami Dade College that same year.
