Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure at Tune Therapeutics

Harry Winters has worked in a variety of positions in the software engineering industry since 2015. From 2015 to 2017, they were an Undergraduate Researcher at the University of California, Santa Cruz - Jack Baskin School of Engineering. During this time, they also worked as a Research Associate at Two Pore Guys, Inc. From 2017 to 2019, they worked as a Software Engineer at Ontera, where they implemented programming of laboratory fluidic robots for sample preparation and DNA amplification, as well as a micro-service based, dockerized, LIMS with asynchronous python in Kubernetes using MongoDB and deployed in AWS. In 2019, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Lyell Immunopharma, where they led a team implementing a pipeline for ingesting MACSQuant flow cytometer data into an in-house data lake, and a team responsible for migrating pathology image workflows from on-premise into AWS. Harry also completed a 400-mile hike through the Sierra Nevada mountain range starting at Lake Tahoe and finishing at Mt. Whitney. In 2022, they began working as a Senior Software Engineer at Ginkgo Bioworks, Inc., where they maintained a dockerized Django app which stored, retrieved, and organized biological data essential for organism design, and maintained and updated Airflow data pipelines for ETL process on NGS and mass spectrometry data. Harry also introduced and expanded modern code analysis and formatting tools in their CI pipelines. Harry is currently employed as a Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure at Tune Therapeutics.

Harry Winters attended the Medical University of Sofia from 2008 to 2014, where they earned a Doctor of Medicine - MD in the Physician Licensing Curriculum in Bulgaria/European Union. Harry then attended the University of California, Santa Cruz from 2015 to 2017, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
