Christian Laing

Christian Laing has a diverse work experience in the field of computational biology and bioinformatics. Christian is currently serving as the Director of Computational Biology and Bioinformatics at Turnstone Biologics since November 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Lead Data Scientist at Navigate BioPharma Services, Inc. from June 2020 to December 2021. Before that, they served as a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist at Navigate BioPharma Services, Inc. A Novartis Company from April 2017 to June 2020. Additionally, Christian worked as a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist at Arima Genomics, Inc. from April 2016 to April 2017. Christian also gained experience as a Bioinformatics Scientist at Sequenom, Inc. from February 2015 to March 2016. Before entering the industry, they worked in academia as an Assistant Professor at Wilkes University from August 2011 to December 2014. Prior to that, they held postdoctoral research positions at New York University from May 2007 to August 2011 and Florida State University in 2007. Christian also served as a Lead Instructor at Florida State University from May 2003 to December 2006.

Christian Laing has an extensive education history. In 1997, they began their undergraduate studies at Universidad de Guanajuato, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics. Christian successfully completed their degree in 2001.

Simultaneously, in 2001, Christian also embarked on their journey at Florida State University. Over the course of six years, from 2001 to 2007, they dedicated himself to their doctoral studies in Biomedical Mathematics (Computational Biology), ultimately earning their PhD.

During their time at Florida State University, Christian also pursued a Master's degree in Biomedical Mathematics (Computational Biology) from 2001 to 2003.

Recently, in 2019, Christian Laing expanded their educational qualifications by acquiring a Certificate in Machine Learning Methods from UC San Diego. The duration of this educational endeavor is ongoing, as no end year has been specified.
